Nebulous Healing is an intentional peer support mission in the Greater Philadelphia region founded by Jase Elam focused on helping people from all walks of life achieve and maintain their ideal wellness.
Jase is a queer black person with lived trauma and mental health experience. Originally from Chester, PA, they have seen the harm done to marginalized communities by clinical services and gained a passion for trauma-informed care in young adulthood. Jase joined the County Leadership Team of Delaware County’s System of Care in order to gain a better understanding of the inner workings of the systems that affect youth and families and work to create meaningful change.
Later moving to Philadelphia, Jase became a peer support specialist for a coordinated specialty care clinic. While this organization was trauma-informed and the staff were dedicated to improving the quality of life for their participants, Jase was again forced to come in contact with organizations that were not as forward thinking.
Leaving this role, Jase began to realize that it isn’t enough to just provide quality services. Actually helping people means impacting the field and changing the way services are provided for everyone, not just your own caseload.
Jase is dedicated to raising the standard of care in the community by providing quality services that raise expectations and empower people to demand better of all services they receive. Jase also serves as the Youth Healing Team Lead for Hopeworks Camden, supervising a team of interns in providing trainings to organizations to increase their understanding of trauma.
